Tokyo Biyori (1997)
Tokyo Biyori by Nobuyoshi Araki captures an intensely personal journey interwoven with Tokyo’s streets and Araki’s memories of his wife, Yoko. Initiated in 1989 as a series in “Science of Thought” magazine, the project was halted when Araki’s wife, Yoko, fell ill and later passed away. This book combines three segments: a reflective essay by Yoko, a memoir Araki penned after her death, and photographs of his solitary search for her presence in Tokyo.
